Winter is Here!!!

It is hard to believe that we have been in the UP for nearly a year! The most remarkable part of the year has definately been the birth of Isabelle....the continued growth of Adelynn....and the purchase of a truck and plow! Chris is definately heading to the dark side...or one could say "the yooper side" of life.

We are looking forward to a quiet holiday season. Chris has earned some much deserved time off for Thanksgiving....so the girls and I are taking advantage of all the daddy time we can get.
He has been so busy with work....hockey has begun, and his course work has been more challenging this semester.

Isabelle is growing like a weed...a chubby weed! And yes, her eyes are turning brown...maybe hazel like dads.

Addy has really found her way here...she has made some good friends and is busy with preschool, gymnastics, and ice skating.

We hope that all of you are looking forward to a happy/healthy holiday season! You are in our thoughts.

More fall photos are coming soon! Today we got our first snow fall of the year! Addy has been ice skating and is ready for a winter full of snow! We hope that everyone is happy and healthy! Love, the Martins

Yooper Magic...and Monster Trucks!

After having a baby, some people baptize and some people throw parties...but in the UP, we attend a monster truck rally! Thus, it is official...Isabelle is a youper as she attended her first monster truck rally just to prove it!
In all honesty, our family attended the Houghton Fair. Addy rode on the ponies...and made us think fondly of last summer and our trip to the Monroe Fair with the Colbeck's. (We sure miss you guys!)
Addy started school this week.

She returned to the Michigan Tech Preschool, and seems to be enjoying the time with her friends....needless to say, she really loves the escape from her crying sister! Adelynn has taken to her role of BIG sister and makes us so proud!

Izzy is doing great!

She seems to think that being held is the only way to go...and requires a great deal of snuggle time. We are adjusting well to our family of four, and are thrilled that everyone is healthy!

Isabelle Bailey Martin Has Arrived!!

After keeping us all waiting an extra week...Isabelle was born on August 16th at 7:38 pm. She weighed 8 pounds and was 20.5 inches long! The birth went beautifully, and we are thrilled with our dear little one! Chris is hopeful that she has his dark stunning hair!

Auntie Steph brought Addy to the hospital shortly after the birth. Wow, what a great big sister she is...and she is passing on her knowledge to Addy. Adelynn is absolutely in love with her baby Izzy. Addy has surprised us all...but then again 2 days down.....a lifetime to go!

I will write more soon, but I wanted to get some pictures posted. Love to all of you!

Almost Here

Well, what can we say. The new babe is taking her sweet time and we're all getting a little impatient. Here's the photo of big Kelley...that so many of you have been asking for.

So, we've been spending our time with Aunt Joni and Aunt Steph and our new friends Ann, Ella, and Cormick. We've been swiming in Lake Superior, picking black raspberries, and jumping off the diving board.

A first glimpse of life in the Keweenaw

I know that many of you have been waiting for the first photos of our move to the UP.
Chris has been really busy this summer trying to master various calculus classes, a new job, and his love for mountain biking.
Addy and I have been a little more relaxed. We enjoy spending time together at the beach, and finding new places to explore.

This is the house we are now calling home. We finally have our boxes unpacked, and it is feeling a little more like home with each passing week.
Chris' schedule is somewhat flexible in the mid-afternoon and he is able to join us for some beach combing. Addy always manages to find some treasure along the shore.
Keep posted. Our next postings will hopefully include baby Martin!
Love to everyone!
